Land Art : Deer

Deer have a very special place in my heart. My connection with these graceful and enchanting creatures has deepened with each unique and magical encounter.

Creating Land Art is so much fun for all ages.

Land Art involves making art and sculptures using materials found in nature. You can use rocks and stones of all shapes and sizes, leaves and garden foliage, driftwood and sand, shells or pinecones, berries and feathers, the list is endless….

By using your imagination you can create sculptures and art of absolutely anything you wish.  From spirals to giant-sized people and monsters, animals and birds, dinosaurs and butterflies, mermaids in the sand, rock people in your backyard…

The art you create feels like part of the landscape…

“Movement, change, light growth and decay are the lifeblood of nature, the energies that I try to tap through my work” – Andy Goldsworthy – Land Artist

Having just experienced another magical and enchanting encounter with a deer the other day I felt compelled to create a large deer in my garden…watch the video:

Deer teaches us to use our gentleness to touch the hearts and minds of our fellow beings.
